Brenton Bridge Engineering, Inc. is a California Corporation established in 2004 that provides professional consulting services in the specialized field of structural civil engineering or bridge design, and construction. We have our office in Santa Cruz to provide services statewide. Brenton Bridge Engineering offers our services to various public agencies, professional engineers, and private clients on a variety of projects including bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, utility vaults, tunnels, pumping stations and channel lining. The firm specializes in the design, modification, rehabilitation, seismic retrofit, and construction of these structures.

Brenton Bridge Engineering provides full state-of-the-art computer capabilities for the static and dynamic analysis of all structures designed by the firm. The firm typically utilizes Microstation for plan production (the standard software used by Caltrans) to ensure a high quality set of plans for use during construction. We also have the ability to produce AutoCAD drawings for Clients who prefer it. BBE has the expertise to produce three-dimensional project renderings for presentations using the Microstation platform.

Project Management communication is the key to success for any project. Our Principal Bridge Engineer has been involved with project management for projects such as the San Diego-Coronado Toll Bridge Retrofit Project (Caltrans), and more recently the SR-152 / SR-156 Interchange Improvement Project (VTA). Project management and project design by the principal engineer ensures complete availability of information to the client, sub-consultants or the design team.

Brenton Bridge Engineering adheres to a policy of strong quality control. This is achieved by ensuring all plans and calculations are checked by an independent design engineer. The design engineer utilized for this task is selected by being the most qualified to provide these services, and will vary with the expertise required for the bridge type selected. Additionally, we provide independent check services to clients for projects within our area of expertise.

Brenton Bridge Engineering offers special inspection services to provide full service to our Clients. Special inspection is important to ensure delivery of the best quality project to our Clients. Additionally, special inspection provided by the design firm helps to ensure the intimate knowledge of the project drawings and project constraints are retained throughout the project from inception to completion of construction. Our special inspection team is the most qualified to provide these services and has a history of successful completion of projects, establishing cooperative relationships with Contractors, Consultants and Clients, and expediting project completion. When schedule is a priority, special inspection by the design firm expedites project completion.

For public agencies with DBE participation requirements, Brenton Bridge Engineering, Inc. is a DBE certified firm. Brenton Bridge Engineering successfully conformed to all requirements governing corporate ownership, corporate records, corporate leadership, individual shareholders finances, and personal taxes. The firm was certified by Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority under the California Unified Certification Program, file #035180 on May 20, 2005, after close scrutiny to ensure the firm met all Federal and State regulations governing DBE status.
